Another week and hardly anything done! We are still recovering from the infections that hit us two weeks ago. Everything takes so long when you’re old. The weather has been cold and wet most of the week but the lean to is now drying out and smells, well, awful.

We haven’t achieved one single thing all week. Apart from yesterday, its been pouring down all week - at least the temporary repair effected by our neighbour has stopped the damp getting in for us. We have both been very poorly, having both gone down with a nasty infection, P having pain in his face, me losing my hearing almost completely for two days - it has come back as normal now. Old bodies are forever playing dirty tricks on you.

Its now ten days since we exchanged contracts on our new home. The two year ordeal is almost over. The day after the news came, P went down with an infection and has been quite ill. The achievement hasn’t really sunk in yet. We will be completing in late July, but not moving until September.

I’ve completely changed this blog. From now on it will be a personal blog rather than a newsy blog, and I will update it weekly. We have so much work to do now. The easy bit is over.
